Stop/start vehicles typically use an EFB or AGM battery, built for far more frequent restarts than a standard battery. Many also need the new battery electronically coded to the car's battery management system afterwards — skip this and battery monitoring can read inaccurately, and stop/start may stop working properly. What's a stop/start battery, and does it need special handling?+
Stop/start cars typically use an EFB or AGM battery, built to handle far more frequent engine restarts than a conventional battery. Many stop/start vehicles also require the new battery to be electronically 'coded' to the car's battery management system after fitting — we handle this as part of the job where the vehicle needs it.
